Any questions can be answered here! Go ahead, don't be shy, ask away. Also, any clarifications I may think of will go in this thread, so it will be advantagous to check back before each meeting.

my lord is a grey seer, and i know we get our mounts for free. A grey seer mounted on a screaming bell is required to take a unit to push the bell. do i: A) still have to pay the full points for the unit (200 points), B) get the basic unit (100 pts for 20 basic skaven) and pay for the upgrades, or C) pay for the unit out of my army points. when i played today i went with option C) but i just wanted to make sure.

Yea, C) would've been the right choice. In regards to the special generals, nothing is free about them (except in your special case it seems). They take up points for army lists as normal, it's just that for your specific banner, that general is unchangeable. The only things that are changeable are the mounts. You still pay the points for each type of mount (no free dragon riding, for example), but it can change between battles. That was the intent of the design.

Alrighty everybody, here's a rundown of some things I found out after reading:
Banners can move and support through corner-corner map sections. I'm sorry it wasn't known before, but it's good to know now.
If 3 armies converge on the same map section, make a Don't Pass in the Night roll; winner gets the attack, loser only Holds.
Rivers DO count as difficult terrain to cross, so a 1-2 fails as normal, excepting Lizardmen. They treat it as clear terrain.

That's silly, who ever heard of an army marching corner-wise.
BTW, you should post what happens each week. I'm lazy and don't feel like impling from the board. Something like "Orcs took more open land, Dwarfs and Scaven clash on multiple fronts, the bretonia/Empire alliance is broken, etc..." Maybe not the last one.

The bret and Empire alliance will never falter as our back story puts us as long time friends. Plus my guy is to busy try to root out evil to go after relatively good people such as the brets...and the brets are cursed to fight with me because of their honor. YAY for CRAZINESS and HONOR!!!!

READ THIS:
No generals are free. None of their things are free. NOTHING is free! You must pay the points out of your list for EVERYTHING. Justin, hope this gets cleared up now.

That's fine, and you weren't the only one. Apparently I wrote the thing poorly...so as long as everything proceeds normally from now on, it's okay.

Hey Sean, next time you claim it, show me in the book where it says I've gotta slide my unit to be in the middle of your unit when charging. Because it doesn't say it anywhere, and I don't feel like getting screwed again. Though maybe good dice help...

i only have the small rulebook but on page 21 it says "[the unit] can, and indeed must, wheel in order to maximise the number of models able to fight."
they also said that as a rule of gentlemanly wargaming always slide the untis so that the maximum number of models can fight. the example they gave was an overrun that only clips one model. they talk about it in the last few pages of the warhammer rulebook errata on the gw site. they refer to it as clipping.

True, but if I don't clip, then I only wheel. That's the only thing it says to do, not slide. I found all the referenced places. Say I hit, and I hit normally, do the free wheel to align combat as it shows, and I only hit 4 guys still. I shouldn't have to move/slide at all after that so I hit all 5, because it doesn't say anything about it, since it very well isn't clipping. With the charge reach of my knights, I've actually only clipped once. And besides, who wants to maximize against Chaos Knights? Just means more of mine die (as was the case) [ed] LAME, GW still cannot figure out how to write a book with clear instructions.
