Ultramarines vs. Tyranids (of doom)

Ryan and I played this afternoon, an 1850 pt match-up.

His forces:
Broodlord
10(?) Genestealer retinue
3x Genestealer units
16 hormagaunts
2x 3 bug Warrior units
3x Zoanthropes
3x Carnifexes

My forces:
Terminator Master
4 terminator command squad
2 Dreadnoughts
10 Tyrannic War Veterans
3x 10 man Tactical squads
5 man tactical squad
Landspeeder Tornado
2x Predator Annihilators

My firepower first swept away his little bugs but his monstrous creatures got close enough to do a bit of harm. And despite my dreadnought getting surrounded by the broodlord and 3 genestealers, they weren't able to find a weak spot in the armor. He turned and crushed two. The remains of the TWV charged in to help and together they wiped clean the rest of them. Later, a crushy carnifex charged the plucky dreadnought. The very last genestealer on the board (the magical genestealer!) then crawled up its back and ripped it apart in a frenzy of rending death. Its following fleet move (huge) brought it into contact with a tactical squad. However, it lost all of its magical properties with that fleet move, as it didn't rend, nor did it cause any wounds with those that did hit. It was summarily beaten to death by the clubbing of bolters. Overall a great game, full of laughs and general silliness, such as a zoanthrope trying to headbutt my landspeeder. And of course, the plasma gunner self-destructing at a critical moment...

[edit] I won. I still had a dreadnought, 3 full tactical squads, a terminator, a speeder with no guns and both predators still alive, although one was immobilized.

ya he's quite the vet. sounded like a good game. i still want to see caleb and andrew go at it bc everytime you guys play, I'm either not there or playing a game myself. Those battles are usually hilarious and very entertaining from the little that I heard/saw.
