I happen to be a big fan of the vehicle construction rules (also creature construction rules) and would enjoy seeing that tank on the battle field. But watch out, with rhino armor it's not the toughest thing out on the field now is it?

I think ill have to figure out a way to destory it. Maybe a striking scorpions with haywire gernades.

All the more reason to give it the same armor as a Leman Russ. Thus all those extra armor platings you see. If they're going to do it, they're going to do it right; no mounting a super heavy gun on a prim and prancy rhino. This is heavy tread stuff here, lol.

still has a chance of blowing up on a roll of 3 or higher with haywire gernades.

Yep. Against the shooting is where it gets the protection. Again, not so much against Eldar (cursed xenos tech!) but it makes me feel better plonking it down.

I could see that tank as being constructed in a tight bind during a siege. Like maybe they had a functional rhino body and a functional earthshaker cannon. So they strapped them together in an emergency for the desparately needed fire support.

There is that possiblity, but if the marines majorly lacked numbers I could see them using that to destory very large units.

That too. Or if they lost the ship in orbit or it had to pull out and they had nothing to crack the walls of a fortress (landing badly in the beginning for instance). Or yes, large units.
