Mike: 3 Broadsides, 2 squads of fire warriors, and an Aunshi.
Me: Unit of Dire Avengers (8) w/ Phoenix Lord, Unit of Rangers (8), Vyper, Avatar, and a WraithLord.
This was my first match in like 3 years. Im still learning the ropes again.
It started out pretty simple move the rangers into position for next turn and move my Dire's twords the forest for cover. Move the Vyper to where he had line of sight and use my Star Cannon.
The best part was when my Dire's took out one whole unit of his firewarriors. That was great.
Vyper went down fairly early in the game, then a ranger. Moved my Dire's into assult with his other unit of firewarriors and tore them apart. I eventually took out a broad side...after loosing maybe 3 Dire's. All that was left was two broadsides and Aunshi.
Then Aunshi moved into close combat with my Avatar...damn Aunshi and stealing my attacks lol.
By this time my dire unit had dwindled down to just the Lord. He took out one broad side. Also I lost one unit of rangers, which left me with 4 in the cover of the forest. It was useless to shoot the broadside...but then Aunshi was in close combat with the Avatar so I was screwed there. So I fired at the broadsides and failed miserably with a few 1 rolls.
My next turn the Lord finished off one broadside and then was bombarded by the other ones rocket grenades or something. Then my rangers took it out and moved into assult with the Avatar and Aunshi. Aunshi took out 2 rangers then my avatar...then I took a wound of his...I think he had 1 left and then he got my last ranger.
Down to the line battle I would call it lol. Very good for my first time back at it!
