The second in a line of running battles between my Bretonnians and Josh's Empire. Kinda like a mini-campaign, but not really. Anyways, it was 1500 points.
Josh had units of:
Greatswords
Swordsmen/handgunner attachment
Spearmen
handgunners
Pistoliers
Huntsmen
wizard
priest
great cannon
With some lizardmen allies (Matt)
saurus unit
skink shaman
I had units of:
Knights (large)
pegasus knights
3 units of peasants
trebuchet
2 paladins
2 damsels
In this game, terrain was the telling factor, in addition to Josh's bad rolling. Again, the first turn went very well for him and not so much for me. His cannon blew my trebuchet into firewood (a poor peasant got in the way on that one too...sad thing) and his magic almost hurt me bad. My turn I couldn't do magic for crap, shots missed, and the best thing that happened was I got closer. After turn 1, due to an appalling lack of memory units didn't move, etc etc, the game ended up a massacre in my favor, with a pt diffference of 1692.5. The buildings blocked line of sight with his cannon to my knights, and instead it had to content itself with blowing apart more peasants. My knights charged as I had planned, and things died under the blades and hooves of my knights. One round, the horses killed more than the actual knights! The pistoliers redeemed themselves from the last battle by killing off yet more peasants and making them run away. Big tough nobles picking on low-born peasants = sadistic glee thoroughly enjoyed by all. Overall, the remains of the Empire were 5 huntsmen and 1 pistolier, while he killed off 25 peasants and my trebuchet. Huzzah! Rematch! Story coming soon!
