Oh hell yeah! I get friggin' Gurkha warriors!
For those who havent heard, Privateer will be throwing Warmachine players a bone in this year of Hordes releases with the Allies units. The Allies are essentially Mercs who will work for only one faction, and certain Merc contracts.
The Allies will be as follows-
For Cygnar- Precursor Knights- They appear to be like a compassionate knightly order, probably with healing abilities and defense buffs for other units. No idea what they look like.
For Protectorate- Idrian Skirmishers- (pictured on the Privateer site) Look like Indian Gurkha warriors- they are faithful tribesmen who fight for Menoth, probably advance deployers w/ rifles and big ass swords.
For Khador- Kayazy Assassins- They appear to be some kind of Cossack-ish assassins. No idea what they look like or what they do.
For Cryx- Cephalyx Slavers- They look like a beefier Mechanithrall unit led by a tall, lanky, masked dude with all kinds of surgical implements hanging off of his back. There is a picture of them on the next No Quarter cover. Again- no idea what they do- they just seem like up-armored Mechanithralls.
Anyway, prepare for more Unitmachine play, all you unit haters. I am excited. Hopefully they are available for pre-release at Gencon.

They are seriously called "Kayazy Assassins"?
Here's to hoping that the Precursor knights are fucking weapon masters.

Yeah... So... The Kazazay or whateverthefuck assassin mini pic is up on the privateer boards... Pretty shitty. The other two (for Cryx and Protectorate) look good, but not the Assassins. They look the down syndrome babies of a kossite and one of Croe's cutthroats. Their stats prolly reflect that.

I dont mind the figures though I definitely think that they do not look like assasins more like a Khador boy band (DUDES OF PLENTY) or something. The leader definitely looks like he has down syndrome though...
We should make up our own stats for KHADOR BOY BAND...they would be kinda like the protectorate choir except not cool and they would cause teenage girls to flock to the field of battle. Or make each enemy troop take a leadership test and if they fail they begin to think that the KHADOR BOY BAND is just dreamy and will do anything to be with them for just one night.

Calling them the Kayazy Assassin's is a terrible, terrible idea. It's going to break down to "omg you have the CRAZY ASSASSINS!!! lol one one one!!!"
The Cryx ones look cool, but I could do without yet another flavor of zombie.

I concur. I also think it is odd that PP is trying to give Warmachine a more 'jack heavy focus, but all it comes out with for Warmachine this year is new units... Hmmm...
They are releasing sweet-ass looking wreck markers in November, supposedly. They are AOEs the size of either a light or heavy jack, and they have removable scrap heaps, so you can move dudes into them, but have them look bad-ass the rest of the time. I think they said 5 bucks for light jack markers, 10 for heavy, and they will have a light and heavy for each faction.

The Cryx ones look cool, but I could do without yet another flavor of zombie. Apologies for being grossly late to the party, but I should point this one out: the Cephalyx fellas are cooler than just another zombie. They're a pretty cool, evil race that's been detailed in the IK setting forever. The drudges are more like automatons than thralls. They're good stuff. Not sure I'd field 'em, but I'll almost certainly buy the minis for RPG use at some point.

That makes them much more interesting. Sorry for the generalization, they just looked to be 'zombie + random robotics', yet again.

Okay- the rules for the new allies are out, and here is the basic rundown...
Cephalyx Slaver and Drudge Mind Slaves- These guys look RETARDED good. Just what Cryx needs- more amazing infantry... and ALIVE at that (Soul Tokens, bitches!). The Cephalyx (AKA Mind-Raper... seriously) is a floating badass who can make enemy infantry deaf to orders and throw Drudge Slaves in front of oncoming arty. The Drudge Slaves have beefier McThrall stats (def 11, arm 15), but are only SPD 5. BUT, each turn they can have either Reach, Berserk, or beef their already impressive P+S 13 to P+s 18. PLUS, they have Eyeless Sight like Everblight, can freaking HEADBUTT, gain +2 attack roll while in formation w/ the leader, and have tough. Oh, yeah, and a full unit of 10 is only 103pts. Oh, and need I say Fearless? Expect to see ALOT of these guys...
Precursor Kinghts- A very Menothy unit for Cygnar. They are SPD 6, MAT 7, Def 13, Arm 14, and have a P+S 12 weapon. They get shield wall, fearless, healing touch (can heal warriors), cant be cast on by ANYBODY, gain a damage die against undead, have Blessed weapons (ignore spell effects for DEF and ARM and can hit incorporeal), and can Knock Back stuff they hit. 107 for a unit of 10. They seem OK, kind of wierd for Cygnar.
Kayazy Assassins- The crappier-looking of the allies- These Khadorans can't be targeted by free strikes, have Riposte like Ryhas, get Stealth, and can do extra samage to warrior models. Probably good against heavy infantry and solos, but big fucking deal, most warriors are one wound. P+S 10 weapons. Mat 7, Def 14, Arm 11 (translates to "easy to kill w/ scattered AOE's"). Look like they will be good at running away w/ a command of 8. 102 pts full up.
Idrian Skirmishers- Again, a faction that doesn't need it gets even more well-rounded troops w/ the Menite Skirmishers. Mat 6, Rat 5, Def 14, Arm 12. P+S 10 mele and P+S 10 12" ranged. Have a sweet-ass Intercept order that lets them move and then charge or run if something enters within 6" of them on your opponent's turn. Have Advanced Deploy, Bushwack (shoot then move), Camoflauge, Coordination (can move and draw LOS through one another), Pathfinder, and Swordmaster and Brutal Charge on their Kopis blades. Only CMD 8, but coupled w/ the Harbinger or some Senechals they will be happy. Really well rounded skirmish troops to fuck up an enemy advance, and potentially kill some shit in the meantime. Most expensive unit, but look to be well worth the points (and fill a gap otherwise occupied by only Exemplar Errant)
So, looks like Menoth and Cryx made out, Cygnar got a unit nobody will field because they have better options available, and Khador got some crappy infantry killers in an army full of infantry killers.
Everybody will be out in stores by November, so enjoy.
