This week's theme on the Invasion website has been prizes for the charity raffle. As you can see from the announcements, the charity raffle has a lot of support this year. The best part is that we have not even come close to announcing all of the prizes that have been donated. Without a doubt, this will be the biggest Daisy May Charity Raffle to date! www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/04/daisy-may-memorial-charity-2011-raffle_9458.htmlwww.invasionkenosha.com/2011/04/daisy-may-memorial-charity-2011-raffle.htmlwww.invasionkenosha.com/2011/04/daisy-may-memorial-charity-2011-raffle_19.htmlwww.invasionkenosha.com/2011/04/daisy-may-memorial-charity-2011-raffle_20.htmlwww.invasionkenosha.com/2011/04/daisy-may-memorial-charity-2011-raffle_21.htmlApril 30th is the last day to register and be eligible for the early registration raffle that will be held for each tournament. This year's early registration raffles feature some very cool stuff from Forgeworld/Warhammer Forge. If you want to be eligible for a tournament's early registration raffle, you must be fully registered by 11:59 PM CST on April 30th. After April 30th, folks can still register on the site for any of the tournaments, they just wont be eligible for the early registration raffle. With regards to making sure to register sooner than later, the first 24 folks who are fully registered for the WFB tournament will be receiving one random model from Center Stage Miniatures. Since receiving the models I have been thinking up different ways in which they can be used as some cool alternative models for WFB armies. Speaking of prizes, next week's theme on the site will be prizes for the Warhammer Fantasy tournament. Each day we will announce another prize associated with the awards given out as part of the tournament. Remember, this year's story is the second chapter in 'Old Magic', so expect to see prizes related to the story. Finally, Thursday is the Invasion Kenosha Social Gathering at Outpost Games. This is a chance for everyone to gather and try out a couple of the primer missions for all of the tournaments. It is also your chance to win a prize if you are fully registered on or before the raffle at 7 pm. Further details can be found on the site.

I knew you'd be fine! Lookat all those players that have signed up now (many of whom have never played at Invasion before). I'm betting it's the same thing as what happened to me here; up til Adepticon, nobody was taking the bait. Now the furor is over and people want to get out tournamenting again. Also, I've read through the missions and here are my thoughts. For the 40k one, it makes no mention whether players are allowed to put units into Reserves and/or Deep Strike any such units. Are they allowed to? Second, there's a typo: "Once both players are finished, player will alternate taking turns..." Next, how does a unit capture the primary objective? Within 3" and no enemy? 6"? Lastly, it's generally Clemens' and my preference that, when making a P/S/T based tournament that the Secondary and Tertiary should NOT be worth more than the Primary, otherwise what's the point of it? Primary is what determines the strongest winner; people that got other objectives are well and good, but without the Primary they are just points . Addendum: will there be rules for Conceding like in the WHFB missions? For the WHFB mission, can units drink from the Wyrding Well more than once (like normal) or are they limited to just once? You also might want to address something I've seen come up on the IWFB boards about Scouts. Are they factored in when considering who gets the +1 on the first turn roll? My next qualm is with the VP chart. Why are the totals so high for getting the most points? For instance in 7th, if the VP difference was 60% of the game total that was a massacre; on your chart it's an almost nigh unattainable 75% to get the best result. Lastly, as points are awarded based on performance, why can the loser easily get as much as or more than the winner, no matter how many VP the winner had (excepting complete wipeouts of course). There should be a punishment for losing! My ideal setup might therefore be: 8/3 9/2 10/2 11/2 12/1 or just simplify it to: 8/3 Minor Victory 9/2 Major Victory 10/1 Massacre! One more thing; in both it says "it's advised not to start a turn when there only 15 minutes left." Is that a hard and fast rule? If my opponent and I are good players, or there simply isn't that much on the table and we know we could get another full game turn in, can we play it? Otherwise you'd might as well say each round is only 1:45 instead of 2:00.

I'm considering using Grey Knights for Killzone as it'll give me an excuse to pimp out my metal dudes and have a couple questions.
How will psychic powers work for squad-based powers?
Also, will we be using Secondary Objective/Fate Cards? Should we bring some?

I am waiting for Big Jim and the Galaxy in Flames crew to update the rules. Should know how they work in a few weeks as well as revised restrictions for the new book.
Seconday Objectives will be used. Fate Cards will not be used.

Since today is a huge holiday in my household (it is my brother's birthday) and tomorrow is going to be spent watching Thor multiple times, I figured I would bring the thunder early this week and updated everyone in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. To kick off the news, Invasion Kenosha is very excited to announce a new sponsor. Chapterhouse Studios is the work of two hobbyists who have decided to take their love of the games of 40k and fantasy to a new level. What began as a journey into the intricacies of green stuff sculpting and casting resin in our garage has culminated into an amazing range of alternative bits and kits. Check out the Invasion site next Thursday, as Chapterhouse Studios and Invasion Kenosha will be making a big announcement for the folks participating in the 40K RTT. Check out the details here => www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/05/official-2011-sponsor-chapterhouse.htmlSpeaking of 40K, the first practice mission has been posted on the site. www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/05/40k-primer-mission-1.htmlNot to be forgotten, the first primer scenario for the Warhammer Fantasy Tournament is also available on the site. www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/05/wfb-primer-scenario-1.htmlWith regards to both scenarios/missions, please feel free to comment on the site or in this forum. Finally, the Warhammer Fantasy Painting rubric has been posted. Similar to last year, there are a few important changes based on feeback from last year's Invasion Kenosha. www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/05/wfb-appearance-scorecard.htmlNext week's theme on the site is all about prizes for the 40K RTT, though I am sure a couple of WFB announcements will also slip in. If you haven't signed up already, what are you waiting for now? Registration closes on July 9th but spots are filling up fast. Invasion Kenosha, a weekends worth of convention packed into a single day with an entry cost that cannot be beat.

Breaking News... Invasion Kenosha has just announced another sponsor for this year's event. Privateer Press has become an official sponsor! Details can be read here => www.invasionkenosha.com/2011/05/official-2011-sponsor-privateer-press.htmlAs part of their support, we are looking to add a Warmachines/Hordes tournament to the Friday night schedule. Before we can do this, we need to find out if people are interested and what kind of event they would like within a 5 hour time frame. This is your chance to shape the future of Invasion Kenosha and add another tournament to our growing line-up of events and activities. In addition to adding another tournament to Invasion, we will be including a Privateer Press category to the Golden Stein and updating the Saturday schedule to include demos.

5 hours isnt much time...you can run a small 3 round 12 man tourney at 2 35 pt lists...thats really about it in 5 hours though...however if you do Im sure our club alone will bring 6-8 people easy as long as there is no painting requirements since its short notice

How about in 6 hours? 5 - 11 pm.

well you can run a 4 round tournament using official steamroller rules with 16 people allowed... each round is 80 minutes plus the random d6*2 minutes added each round...35 pt lists...have to use each list at least once...so thats at a max just over 6 hours, and thats without breaks in between rounds for setting up new pairings and everything...so youre looking at at least 7 hours at least from the time dice drop first round...

There also is accelerated time format..in which case a 4 round tourney with 16 people will have 60 min rounds with the random d6*2 added on...can be done in round 5 hours...people might gripe about the turn time limits but should be ok with 35 pt lists

The problem is we cannot set-up till 4 pm and need an hour to drag in tables and terrain. We can play till midnight assuming we don't allow any minors.
I don't play either system so does it have to be a true tournament bracket system? Is that the norm? I am working with PP to get a dedicated press ganger, but would like to get ideas what I can do.

That is the standard Steamroller tournament that a Press ganger will run. The accelerated tourney is something that can be done to speed it up thats still part of the steamroller rules

What is the typical entry fee for such a tournament? What is the usual prize support?

For a 35 pt 4 round tourney Id say $10 is fine....Privateer press and Steamroller provides 1st 2nd and 3rd place trophies and certificates...on top of that there are faction tokens you can give as additional prizes, P3 paints, etc
