remember, dark eldar go down to fire super easily. their best save is 3+ and that's only the incubi hq everything else is 5s and 6s which can easily be taken out with bolters.

indeed bolter armies are killer but the problem with that is it would be going against your theme and any blood rages on them would hurt you. But i understand more cheese the better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D well see matt his problem was that I had first turn shooting and took out both of this tanks in the first 2 turns and then I hailed dark lances on anything that was a threat but he couldn't really afford to divert any major firing away from my ravagers. And he had my 3 assaulting units to worry about. But a mistake on my part made it so my hq squad saw no action.....man I am still so rusty but I still managed to scrape a victory but barely. Great game luong ;D ;D

As much as the 40K tourney is for "cheese", it's also an opportunity to play armies not normally allowed in tournaments.
For example, I know there will be a least one Titan there. Who doesn't want to spike a titan?
See you all there!

Having 3 tacticals with hb's wouldn't be going against theme; after all, he is a space marine army, merely with a curse. Now a World Eaters army would be out of theme there...

world eaters? ya that was very nice on your part ian to take all those tanks out quickly seeing how it reduces armor value to 12 no matter how high it is. dark eldar is a very very hard army to play. it was probably not a good first choice for me, but hell it was only like 150 bucks for 500 dollars worth of shit ;D that is so sexy josh. i feel the burn in my loins.

I could use some input. I've play tested the format, and have come to the conclusion that it will be almost impossible to get three satisfying games in the time allotted. So here's the question: would you prefer three rushed games of MAYBE 4 turns in two hours, including set up; or two full games at three hours each, with plenty of time between for breaks? If we make the change, battle points will be calculated as normal, but a Strength of Schedule value for opponents and VP's will be collected to break ties.

From what I've seen, 2 hours is ok for a 6 turn game if both players know the rules like the back of their hand...or it ends on about turn 4. A 4 turn game is not very fullfilling. If you know the majority of the people that are entering this tournament are younger or new to the game, then extending the time would be a good idea.

My suggestion would be keep it how it is and if they run out of time total up victory points but you have to keep an eye out for stallers......2,000pts each is a lot but it can be done in 2 hrs but maybe 2 and half would be better.....just try prolonging the time if possible

ok guys I'm going to the gladiator tournament on march 11th im going to leave around 8:30ish or so.
I'm in with my dark eldar and my brother is in with his spacewolves. Since now I have a car I can go it alone but if anyone else is willing to go that would be killer.

Hello again! We will be going with a two round format this time. Unfortuneatly, I cannont hold the store open late enough to accomodate the extra time needed for three full rounds. If this effects your decision to come, I understand, but we'd all love to see some new faces! The new schedule follows: 10:00 AM - 10:45 registration 10:45 - 11:00 briefing and set-up 11:00 - 1:30PM Round 1 1:30 - 2:15 Lunch and painting contest judging 2:15 - 2:30 Set up 2:30 - 5:00 Round 2 Hope we see you there!
