lol, 3 booster sets it is then... but what day specifically would we meet up to play? or just do it thursdays? If you're free tkas on tuesday's i could do it then.

I would prefer playing during normal club hours, as more people would be able to see the game and we could possibly get more people into it. Also, I'm already at OBG on Tuesday nights for Board Game Night.

One more thing-I doubt very much that John will restock the boosters you buy, so at some point you will have to look online. Fortunately prices online are even more ridiculously cheap than John's prices. In particular, look here. |

That's not a problem, I only need 3-4 booster packs maximum to play and get some variety. Those prices online are actually pretty similar to John's with the discount, seems to vary depending on the product. I'd rather pay John anyway, he does provide the space in which we hang out (that's why I ordered through him to get my Warhammer army). If OBG goes under we're SOL, or as my old teacher would say, shi-poopie outa luck.
He also said his opinion on sympathy is that it's found in the dictionary between shit and syphilis... interesting guy.

Just picked up a couple boosters chosen more or less at random to add some variety; one of the 2 Mechs was pretty "blah" at first, then I played with the clicker it's mounted on. turns out this little sneaky bugger gets exponentially stronger as he gets damaged... little subtle things like that invisible at first glance made me smirk because it adds some interesting choice and variation. Do I go with the guy who shoots strong but gets weaker when shot, or the guy who shoots weak and gets stronger the more he's shot? choices choices...
Other stand out choice was an artillery piece that is apparently immobile that eats infantry alive and a hover-craft vehicle; stats are average, but moving 8" ignoring terrain looks fun.
Also if we (as in the 3 or just 2 of us) play a game Thursday, what kinda point value are we looking at? I think each booster had like 200 points worth of stuff, so i have a total of roughly 800 i think when including the two merc forcies from the starter pack.
In spite of the value for the Solaris VII light mech box-set, I avoided getting them on your reccomendation that the rules suck and/or require other undesireable factors to play and got two of the little ones.

I am playing in a team 40k game and then leaving that night for a wedding I have to be at over the weekend, so I'm not sure what I'll actually play this week for mech. Games are in multiples of 150, but i suggest just one vs one 600 point games to start, as per the normal rules until 1.) You guys get the hang of things, and 2.) I get refreshed, because it's been a long while.
