Heres another leaked picture from the Codex, this time of the Manticore. Its a really poor image, but it looks similar to the Forgeworld one. Art work: Forgeworld model: www.forgeworld.co.uk/manttank.htmJust a quick thank you to Link for posting the picture to his photobucket acount so everyone else does not have to follow the links, thank you .

The Tank is a lie! www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70434It would seem our suspicions of the "new" leman russ are true. Also, this 'dex isn't living up to alot of peoples expectations, like GW would super buff guard . edit: I didn't mean to click the edit button .

If GW is not going to release a new Leman Russ why did they suddenly pull the 3 box set of Russ' from the store? The Artillery tanks are still there in their box set...
Also, I'm glad the new Guard is not a power build because otherwise I might be tempted to scrap my dreams of a Death Korps of Krieg/Inquisition/Adeptus Mechanicus army I'm finalizing the details on now.

GW is adding in the parts for the exterminator and one other varient, I forget which, to the leman russ box set. It isn't going to be a full resculpt, just the turret is being redone and maybe some tweaks to the hull.

Here is a picture of a Valkyrie from a angle I haven't seen before. It shows off the interior of the Valkyrie and in the background you can just bearly make out the new command squads and the full plastic sentinel.

Oh Carl, you were doing searchlights wrong. It says "spotted by the vehicle." To spot something in Nightfight, you have to roll 2D6x3. It will be better explained in the next codex.

The third one is actually for converting the Vulture from the new plastic Valkyrie, but cool I wanted to see these.

John should be getting his preview copy of the codex within days, too.
My stormtroopers retain their awesomeness! Now they are fantastic at shooting and decent in close combat too, win!

Well, there is a leaked Spanish version of the codex on what looks to be some Russian photobucket-ish web site, link to the link on dakkadakka: www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/235858.pageThe link is more than halfway down the page. The reason I did not post a more direct link is because there are some very obvious copyright infringements here, seeing as it appears to be the actual codex for all intents and purposes in its entirety, albeit in Spanish. [EDIT: DakkaDakka has wisely taken down the link to the suspect website since I checked back on their site to show it to a friend.] Also a close up of the new planet strike book appears to show Valhallan's which are illustrated differently than GW has shown them before. Whether this is a sign of new plastic greatcoat troopers or is just an example of GW re-imagining how it portrays the army is left up to the viewer to decide. warseer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=56109&d=1239218610

Oh, I was wrong about the Deathstrike missile. It is a D3+3" radius, for a total of 8-12" explosion. It's in the asterisk section that it says radius, with the average being 10" (you could bring the 10" Apoc template for normal games!). That's definitely big...

Yep, I realized that for myself a few hours ago, what I also realized was that the Vanquisher no longer comes with a free coaxial storm bolter , this perturbs me because I am a stickler for WYSIWYG and this is going to cause my Vanquisher to be +10 points because I refuse to take a hacksaw to that hunk of resin and I don't want to have something be misleading/confusing in an army that otherwise adheres to WYSIWYG standards. 'Sigh' well I guess thats what I get for being so uncompromising. Still, I can't wait to field more than 4 Leman Russes and the new order system ;D, I can wait for some of the other new rules to kick in but I guess us beggars can't be choosers now can we .

I spent quality time with the new book yesterday and have decided that I am going with the veteran squads in chimera. Maybe down the road I will do an actual platoon, but for now I like what the veterans offer.

Mine is similar, but not quite. Check out my total army in the Army Rosters section. Turns out my 1000 point army is now 2250. Can't complain...

Yep, vetran squads do seem to be the way to go if you intend on having less than 50~ guardsmen anyways. Guard platoons apear to be for those who want 80+ men and plan on taking as few transports as possible. I don't see many if any Guard armies going compleatly without at least one or two veteran squads, their just too good to pass up ;D. They can preaty equally hold the line and advance, you just need to upgrade them as such. They are a very versital troop choice that can benifit from massive upgrades. Almost a dire avenger squad or space marine squad for Guard, but not quite, sort of thing.
