Well yes, definitely I agree on those points wholeheartedly.

So results will be based on Battle Points. WYSIWYG needs to be followed, but I can used prime/base coated models. Works for me and means I can relax and just paint at my usual snails pace.

Bad News... My wife needs to work full weekends until another office manager is found (last one just put in her notice), so it looks like I will not be able to attend. If things change, I will let you all know, but for now, I am going to say that I am not going to make it.

Yeah, like equinox said, we got a no go for the tourney (since I was coming along with him). Count me out too. Sorry.

It appears I have been doing it wrong, although I've used it as a troop my dreadnought actually has never lived to attempt to score. My rule still stands that you can take any non-hq, non-tank as a troop option. Up to you if you decide to make a Landspeeder or Scarab Swarms or whatever as troops. Sure they can't score I guess, but it makes them worth one less kill point for the last mission. Along with taking artillery like a thunderfire cannon as troops, the gun itself can't score but the gunners sure can unless the rulebook states no part of the artillery unit can be scoring, but I don't think it does. the speeder should be come a scoring unit, per the rules your "troops" slots are scoring units, but scarab swarms specifically disallow them as a scoring unit. I would assume that just because they are a "troops" slot they still have to follow any special rules for them eg "swarm" rule.

In the big rule book, it specifically states that Vehicles can never score. Even as troop units they can't. That's how it is when I take my dreadnought with the orks as a troop unit. Yes I can take it as a troop instead of a heavy support. The only units in question that I'm sure of would be artillery units you want to take as a troop.

Update. My wife has April 18th off, so I am back in. Since I didn't plan on coming, I have not been painting enough these last few weeks, so I will be fielding an unpainted army.

"Question for mission 3. You have a modified KP rule. Does that mean that Transports are not worth any KPs, or are the included in the unit they come with? I know modified KPs are becoming more popular, but there are armies out there (fast Orks, Dark Eldar, Rhino-spam and Drop Pod Marines) that are already punished for taking multiple transports. If you increase the KPs AND allow KPs for transports, it will eliminate a lot of those armies from the competition. Just a question, not really complaining, I'm just giving my input from what I have seen in the GTs, Adepticon and Ard Boyz tourneys. Please clarify so people know how to build their lists. Thanks Cal"
Question from a person on Adeptus Windy City. Need response soon.

I'd hope Dedicated Transports do not give KP, but others like battlewagons, falcons, and land raiders (vehicles that can transport but are still HS slots) would give them.

I will rule that designated transports won't give up kill points for Mission #3. There will be enough kill points being offered by armies already more than likely. This benefits some armies more than others but that's how I will rule it. Just make sure you are very clear with how you are using your FOC with your opponents. Certain lists can indeed take Land Raiders or Battlewagons as designated transports, so you don't want to necessarily waste your time trying to get 2 kill points when they're worth none.

If I can finish up a model for it, Word Bearers. If not, Ultramarines. You're still planning on bringing your Daemons, right? It would be fun to actually play against them for once, rather than always playing as them.
