Hardly, can't afford the gold teeth and fur coats.
I just really respect what your club does and want to make sure I repay the favor you guys are doing for Invasion.

Ok - So word is getting around about the date and the TO for a tournament in Madison is concerned about how this will impact our events since he planned on running his on June 19th.
With that said, if I make one more move to July 16th, would that impact the club's ability to support Invasion?

Not at all. Just let us know the firm date so we can make it so.

Since I officially posted on WHFB so they can figure out the circuit for 2011, I am set unless there is a major disaster.,

In a few days I'll put up a thread for fantasy terrain I am making. It'll give you a sneak peak on what to expect

Invasion Kenosha III is happening on July 16th, 2011. As preparation continues for another year, I am in search of an artist who can do a digital image for the Invasion website (www.invasionkenosha.com) that will be used as the header to the site. This year's theme is a cairn wraith versus something from a dark elf army. The image must be digital and scalable so that it can be used for a number of different things related to the event. I am looking to pay ~$25.00 - $40.00 for the image or exchange the image for sponsorship support.
If interested, please contact me at equinox999equinox@yahoo.com.

In a few days I'll put up a thread for fantasy terrain I am making. It'll give you a sneak peak on what to expect I am working on the project plan today and trying to figure out how many tables of terrain I need to build/purchase. How many tables do you think you will be able to cover?

Wanted to run this concept by the group and see what you think. I was going to use a pod approach to the next Invasion. Each pod would consist of 8 players with hopefully no duplicate army books in a single pod. I am starting with 3 pods (24 players), but intend to expand to four pods once I sellout the first 24 spots.
When it comes to scenarios and tables, I plan on having tables set-up into groups of four to reflect the pods. Each group of tables will have a scenario specific to that table group. Each round, a pod would play at a different set of tables and thus a different scenario. Since the tournament is set currently for three rounds at 2 hours per round, I could expand to four rounds at 1.5 hours per round without increasing the overall length of the tournament (assuming we fill the magic 32 slots).
I like this approach for a few reasons. 1. I can have the tables use specific terrain pieces without having to build 16 pieces for one scenario. 2. I can increase the prize/awards by including a Overall Winner for each pod. 3. Should allow me to break-up the army books so the chances of playing against the same book is very small.

Seems likable.
My first thought was that it essentially makes it 3-4 tournaments instead of just one. Some people may want to try to play against the whole group of people instead of just a few.
However, I'm definitely all for this idea. I absolutely hate playing against the same army (especially a top tier army) multiple rounds in a row, like at AWC tournaments. We'll see how this goes!

There would still be an overall winner based on battle points, so in a sense a player is still playing against the whole group, you just wont be playing someone from another pod. I am kind of surprised no one has tried this approach yet.

I was working on some logistic things (i.e. transporting materials) and feel like 6 x 4 table toppers may be a real challenge to transport. That said, I am considering making the move back to 4 x 4 battlefields. Any thoughts or concerns?

1200 points on 4x4? We can do some games here to test it out, but it should be fine.

I dont think 1200 on a 4x4 is to bad. Most people play 1000 pts on a 4x4...only 200pts more isnt gonna take up a whole lot more room.
8th edition is pushing more infantry so it could be a problem with some of the horde armies...but really I think it is fine.

Andrew - Any idea how many tables worth of terrain you will be building? Can you cover 4 (i.e. a single pod)? Do you have a theme for the club's tables?

I think Andrew is avoiding me!
Sponsors are lining up nicely. One of the big ones that I was hoping for has signed on, so things are starting to get exciting.

Oh, oops! Haha, of course I'm avoiding you (na, the blue dot didn't show up so I didn't see it as a new reply).
Umm...I can definitely do 4 4x4. One will be completely snowy forests, one will be chaos winter forest, and the other two will be generic green with trees and hutz. I'll try to fetch some pics by the weekend. So like two white, two green tables.

Two more sponsors have officially signed on for the next Invasion. Garagehammer is also interested in podcasting from the tournament, so I am thinking that Invasion Kenosha III is going to be big. May have another podcast also becoming involved, will know more soon.
