Hey what's up.
I'm Jake, pretty new and scrubish to the NIMGC. I'm not from the Dekalb area or even the USA to tell the truth. I'll keep it short and simple, born in Australia, parents split, I got stuck coming here. I went to college in Elgin for a semester but the price was a bit higher then I could afford so I'm working part time to help pay to go back. I really want to get into a Welding/Pipe Fitters union or something of the sort cause I took 3 years of welding in High School.
I usually play Warhammer 40k but due to a friend losing his job with the company and such, he ended up getting banned from all the stores so that put a huge damper on my will to play the game anymore. In my search to find a better tabletop I ran across Warmachine, I really like the system and the models are amazing. I'm learning how to play Khador currently, I only have the starter box for them but trying to expand with each paycheck.
Well that's it for me, hope to see you guys in the shop. I'm mostly going to be in on Thursdays due to the meetings. I'll try to stop by more depending on my work schedule, might be tight due to me saving up for Gencon.

Hideeho neighbors,
I'm Ian... yes, another one, this might cause some confusion. I also seem to be rather unobservant as I've posted 16 times already and didn't see this thread *headdesk* I'll be in DeKalb starting next tuesday. I've spent the past six years at Columbia College in Chicago teaching myself how to make art. Learned more the days that I skipped class. I play Space Marines and one day I hope to play Khador... I have 2 warjacks. I've been playing 40K since I started highschool... so about 10 years. I started with Space Marines, went to Chaos, and back. I've worked my way through pretty much all of the armies but for some reason keep coming back to Space Marines. I do plan to resurect my Khorne army once they come out with the next new Chaos codex.

Though I have replied to your other posts many times. Welcome to the boards and also to the club Ian. We wont get you confused with the other Ian...unless you are also a 6'5" Hairy Pirate...

Thank you and no I'm not... he's got me beat by six inches... and I'm not particularly hairy at all. My last boss jokingly called me either Orlando or Legolas every once in a while. But I mean, if we're both there and someone says "Hey, Ian!" ....

Well, guess I never got around to this. My name is Richard, i'm currently earning a second degree here at NIU while my soon to be wife Audrey is studying sculpture. I play Warhammer 40000 and Audrey plays Hordes/Warmachine. Neither of us are very well versed in either and are new to the miniture game scene. Hopefully we'll be able to show up on a lot of the thursday nights and get to know everyone. Thanks guys, later.

Hi, I'm 'Trie (sounds like "tree"). I'm the second-Ian's housemate (think y'all are calling him "Legolas"?). I've been at Columbia College in Chicago for the last couple years, but transferred to NIU this year. For art. I make things that like to try and eat the unwary.
I've been out of gaming for several years, but I've been gaming since I was a wee tiny. My first game was D&D (first edition, which tells you just how old I am). Always been a chess-geek. I was even on the team in high school and went to State, though I, personally, suck. I've played Magic (still have my cockroach deck), LARPed Vampire (Horrid Reality is so much fun), and played a wee smidge of 40K back when it first came out and the rules would have made anyone with OCD throw their hands up in despair.
Now? I'm picking up 40K again. Necrons are my favorite--Daleks gone Egyptian with a worse attitude.
I'm willing to give just about any game a shot.

Name: Alex Tzakis
Zup guys, I met a number of you and got this URL playing in the Summer Rampage league. I'm from Naperville Illinois and I've only been playin Warmachine for a couple months. I was the other guy playing Cygnar in the league.
Ya'll seemed like a good group of people and it was alot of fun getting stomped by everyone I played. I'll definately join this upcoming semester, though unfortunately I am graduating (god willing) in December. I do plan to stay in the Chicagoland area when I get out into the real world tho.
I also have about 1300 points of Daemonhunters, though I have substantially less playing time in 40k than Warmachine in that I've had that army for almost two years and only played two games with it in comparrison to the vast amount of Warmachine I find myself playing.
Hope to play soon~

Hi, I'm Kent. I'm a friend of Red Sparrow/Cosmo (if you remember him), who's the brother of Evan (if you remember him.) I used to minis game many years ago and had to stop. I'v recently dusted off my army in a fit of near-lethal insomnia, though, and have been looking to scrap with it again. In either event I have only the foggiest idea of what I'm doing and I missed the last rules revision.
I have ~1500 points of Dark Eldar (~1000 points of real DE and 500 points worth of stand-ins). 2000 points worth of Fantasy Empire is at home. I'm really much too poor to be buying whole new armies, or even many new figures, but I still enjoy the game.
That all besides, I'm a Biology major at NIU, working towards being a teacher. I spent forever in community college (CLC).

Cool finally a Dark Eldar player and don't worry I'm pretty sure Dark Eldar haven't changed since way back when, but they'll be getting their codex revamped after Orks next year (guess Games Work Shop is recognizing there is more money to be made by getting people to buy more armies instead of the monster they've created, AKA "Space Marines" ). Good luck with your major and if ya become a teacher at least mess with your students if only because the woman I care for tells me that the crazy ones are the best. Then again I can't argue that point she'd hit me...

Welcome to the club Kent. Of course we remember Redsparrow (adam T) and we still hope Evan will come to meetings unless he graduated or something. We have a couple of other Dark Eldar players, one no longer attends NIU and the other is Ian Rogerson (VP)...it fits for him cause he is a pirate and so are they in a sense...anyways good luck with your armies and have fun at club. Hope to meet you someday.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me yesterday. My name is also Tom, and I'm a graduate student of Geography who just started this semester. My main hobbies are computer strategy games and wargames, although I've dabbled in minis from time to time. I also play Lord of the Rings Online (which is quite awesome, btw). Unlike everyone else here I do not play Warhammer AT ALL, so I have no armies to show off. Heck, I don't even have any Warmachine stuff yet, although that will probably change before the next meeting. What else...oh I'm not interested in the painting/art side of minis whatsoever, so when I do get some stuff they will either gor unpainted or I will ask someone else to paint them for me. Guess that's it!
P.S. I also live in Stevenson-where are the other Stevenson people?
